The most logical answer anybody here can give you: your wifi access at home is crap because a) both of your devices work fine using other hotspots and b) both of your devices don't work at home. Try using an ssh client like ConnectBot with a virtual keyboard. You are losing enormous amounts of screen real estate that you need to get work done. Because sometimes it can cost a lot of money to run and maintain a storage system. It doesn't stop with capital costs. There is maintenance fees and labor costs. It can be a lot cheaper to outsource these things.
