I would wash it first. It's been on Patrick Stewart's balls. http://www.freshhellseries.com...
We have mini-splits in our office too. It's really awesome technology. I can keep my software cave at 70 without having to listen to other people complain about how cold it is.
It seems to me that every time the minimum wage is raised everyone who isn't at minimum wage effectively takes a pay cut because grocery store owners, fast food chains, gas stations and every other minimum wage employer has to raise prices to match rising labor costs.
I'm not an economics expert (obviously) so could someone explain why raising minimum wage (or having it in the first place) is a good thing?
Alice Hill's plan to ruin Slashdot in a nutshell:
Step 1: Drive away nerd community.
Step 2: Make site more palatable to norms.
Step 3: ???
Step 4: Profit!
Alice Hill is an insensitive clod.
She didn't take into account that most nerds have some degree of autism and therefore don't like it when things change. Since the slogan for the site is "News for Nerds" we can only interpret this as a hostile act and must retaliate appropriately. We are not wanted here so let's move on.
I don't get the point of this at all.
"My doctor, family, friends, conscience, and co-workers tell me to lose weight and I haven't listened to them but maybe if I have the government nag me about it I'll turn my life around".
Who thinks like this? (Other than people without doctors, family, friends, conscience, and co-workers)
I'm running a Haswell Pentium on a Supermicro C202 based motherboard that requires ECC memory. Non-ECC will not work even though it is a Pentium class CPU. I found this out the hard way.
They called it Starship Troopers because StarCraft was already taken.
FTFY x2.
I hope PC Power and Cooling comes out of this OK too. As a power supply guy I liked the fact that they printed out test reports and their products were built like tanks.
I wish I could mod this post "Sad but True".
I do the same thing.
I think it's a matter of putting your situation into perspective like "yeah things suck but they could be worse" or "hey there's someone out there that feels like I do".
I've been toying around with making an alarm clock that uses the same idea.
It cusses you out Full Metal Jacket R Lee Ermey style (hitting the snooze button only intensifies the cursing) instead of the usual chimes.
This way there is a good possibility your day will only get better!
I was using Gentoo back in 2003 because I was interested in squeezing out every last bit of performance out of an old PC. Now I'm using Gentoo to do the same with a similarly spec'd Raspberry PI.
If I was tasked with printing out text that needed to be archived in a vault I think I would encode the text as a QR code with the error correction set to level H first.
I would also consider laminating the pages or doing something to protect them from moisture and dryness.
Personally I toss a USB drive in a safe deposit box every few months.
Therefore the criminal charge is invalid since a weapon of mass destruction can not exist.
The charge should really be called something like "using a weapon capable of destruction of personnel and materiel en-masse to convert the mass of said personnel and/or materiel into smaller bits of personnel and/or materiel".
If the definition doesn't fit you must acquit!
Seriously though I hope they roast this guy.
Tandy 1000 RLX with hard drive. It really was a neat small form factor (for the time anyway) PC.
