Well in most cases when game is released on multiple platforms, they are about 25% cheaper on the PC than xbox or PS3 (at least in the UK).
I assume this is because the games are harded to pirate on a console, they can get away with pricing it higher.
If this is a bigger slashvertisement for Tom's Hardware, or Battlefield 3. Meanwhile, there are much broader testing services such as Can You Run It? that will give you data on one page instead of thirty and on a much wider variety of games than Battlefield $$$.
That site is all very well, but it gives no real world performance. It's all theoretical. According to that site, my PC can "run it" just fine, but it would have to be at the lowest possible graphic settings according to the real world tests.

It's a pretty good replacement, if not better than Google Pack as it has a lot more apps, and full updates everything as well when you run it.
When Minidisc was announced I thought it would be a perfect removable storage solution; at the time people were using Syquest drives for "large" (44 and 88 MB) removable storage, and they were pricy; there was a market waiting for something cheaper yet still reasonably fast. I think a Minidisc could hold 250MB or something like that - good storage at the time, relatively cheap, and would probably have been pretty reliable.
However, Sony's anti-piracy worries made Minidisc inaccessible digitally - there were no Minidisc readers/writers and you could only use it for recording/playback of ANALOG audio!
Soon Iomega came out with the very popular 100MB ZIP drives and Sony's window of opportunity closed - and we got to enjoy crappy Iomega quality and the infamous "Click-of Death".
Sony does come out with cool tech sometimes, but their entertainment division screws it up every time. I guess Sony made their money from Minidisc, but they could have done so much more with it.
That's wrong. I still have my old MD player which could also record from a Digital Optical out on any CD player via Toslink cable.
Actually VISA do issue credit cards, not directly of course, but through other banks etc. Although, I still find it unlikely that these 2 people have actually lost money because of this.

I know you joke, but it would be Sony Ericsson filing against LG, not Sony (which only half owns SE). This is different from Motorola, where they are all the same company.
No the the installation of Chrome in the %user% folder is an an absolute pain. I'm sure the only reason google did this is to make it easy to install, but that doesn't make it the best place. Programs go in program files/system directories, NOT in userdata. I also hate the fact it doesn't just "update", it creates an entirely new directory everytime for that particular version, so you end up with loads of redundant folders.
No other major app does this, why can google get away with it?
You realise right that the PS2 easily lasted the 10 years Sony said it would. It doesn't mean a 10 year gap between consoles as there will always be some overlap.
Except that Sony never said it had Toy Story graphics, It was all built up in the press, but they never once mentioned Toy Story itself.

That's not entirely true though. Yes they don't have drivers per se, but they still have a trained staff member on board at all times, to manually control the train in the event of an emergency and to generally control when the train leaves and departs, - especially during peak hours, when the network is busy.
It's not 3rd party controllers, it's 3rd party unlicensed controllers which are not allowed. Microsoft and Nintendo do EXACTLY the same with their consoles. The difference is Sony has never enforced this until now.
Minor correction, the throttling actually lasts 5 hours 10am-3pm and 4pm to 9pm for downloads, although the upload is 3pm - 8pm, so there is an overlap. But still it is a pain. The daytime cap is not too bad, but the 1.5GB during the evening is so easy to go over, I often get throttled back to 2.5Mb.
