Comment You have your own brick wall (Score 0) 1051

I've been going to an acupuncturist for over ten years, and I can tell you without any hesitation it has helped me tremendously. My main reason to go is back problems, but he has helped me with shoulder/elbow injuries as well as stress and allergies.

With that being said, I wholeheartedly support vaccinations, and modern medicine. If I were in need of help, regardless of illness, and "Western" medicine could help me you're damn right I would take advantage of that. TCM(Traditional Chinese Medicine) is just another tool to use for health, along with Yoga, diet, etc;

If you meant clean air for the planet, not just yourself then your car is probably not the place to start. Use less electricity. That's where the majority of the air pollution comes from.

Not so fast...

Where I live, in a valley with mountain ranges on two sides, and an inversion in the winter and ozone in the summer, the vast majority of that problem comes from auto exhaust. Sure, there is some pollution from industry, but our coal burning power plants are hundreds of miles away.

Really the only thing that is going to help in this situation is electric cars, but there you go, being powered by coal.

Comment Another Loan... (Score 1) 176

While I agree with the sentiment about newer vehicles, etc, the last thing I need or want is another loan.
IMHO this is 99% of this discussion...

For the millions out there who drive vehicles 10+ years old(such as myself), one of the main reason we keep them instead of getting something newer is the obvious fact that THEY ARE PAID OFF.

Rocket Science, eh?

Unfortunately for the environment, I will stick with my old truck that gets 10mpg for the aforementioned reason.

Comment This is brilliant (Score 2) 207

What is really amazing, and just freeking audacious to say the least, is how the IDOT is even considering doing this.

With all the recent focus on digital privacy, etc, especially since the "outing" of the NSA via Snowden, with the protests against police brutality a la Ferguson, etc, it just amazes me that something like this would even be considered. Amazing.

Who in their right mind would hand their unlocked cell phone to law enforcement?
The reality is, they are always looking for something, anything, any scrap of information, or anything misconstrued or misinterpreted, to be USED AGAINST YOU.

People keep forgetting, it doesn't matter if you haven't done anything wrong or not. That doesn't matter and never did. There are loads of Americans out there who have been "put through the ringer"(putting it mildly) by LE who were honest people who never did anything wrong.
