You know what else is stupid? You
Old hat NASA engineers have been repeating that same old story about hardening for years. They all said it cant work, will be unreliable, is a waste of time and money. All until Phonesat was tested and worked.

They cost thousands instead of millions of dollars, and work just fine. You can listen to an interview with one of the founders/engineers here:

Yep, I remember watching some Linux conference about upcoming hot new SMR tech (2 years ago?), and I think they said those drives are read-modify-write on every write, that is the price you have to pay for huge capacities.
They are targeting long term storage, and will be useless for desktop/server use.
umm, Sony was worse to begin with, whole reason they got hackled is because Sony is FUCKING EVIL!
They want you to power up devices so its easier to dump data without leaving a trace.
Recent iPhone encryption bypass (if the phone was powered up and manually locked) using USB connection comes to mind.
It was either that, or getting thrown out of China like Qualcomm. Intel was screwed no matter what, this way at least they get to slap a lot of intel inside stickers on cheap phones and getting piece of the market.
you mean they are just following orders?
except a lot of people use encryption every day right now and FCC doesnt do anything about it. AMBE is basically encryption, and only way to decrypt it is to pay DVSI or ICOM

wasnt the GAO guy actively spying for the NSA during the investigation?
hmmmm no, he worked for Germany's Defense Ministry, all right then
battery life was too long, intel will fix that

yep, it will work great next time someone wants to shoot a speck of DUST at you
so dangerous, and yet no accidents. Sounds like a PR campaign before another FAA power grab.
it was barely visible with naked eye, probably recorded by the same bastard that shot it down

Single player still seems to exist, but will need to sync your universe with that of the multiplayer universe "from time to time". That's perfectly acceptable
no, that online DRM, like simcity
