why not do this, build Jessie in such a way that during the install of Debian Jessie put an option so the user can select either init system so there is a tick option to either select systemD or old traditional init system that debian has used for years, can Debian Jessie be built in such a way that during install the user has a choice to go with either system???
i been using debian & slackware exclusively for the last few years because they are the last two remaining old school distros and if Jessie goes full tilt towards systemD i will be forced to abandon Debian

maybe systemD will cause a Fork in the Debian distro,

i like Slackware too, maybe Slackian_Debware

i have to agree, i was running Jessie for a while and systemD is just awful, i rather have the old init system that Debian has used for years, it works and i figure if it isn't broken don't fix it, i have since removed Jessie and switched to Slackware and have made up my mind to stick with Slack and keep my eye out for using only non systemD distros

and it already has in a few places, i think Iran has pulled the plug

i think more nations will cut the international wires and develop their own internet within their own nation's borders sort of like a Nation wide LAN, various governments may have some international connections to the WWW but there will be mostly separation between nation's, i dont mind this at all and would stop most of the international cybercrime,

i hate high tech hardware that is locked down for my own good, maybe bought an Android tablet for the specific purpose of wiping android off and putting a vanilla Linux distro on it like Debian or Gentoo or maybe Slackware, and most tablets wont boot from other sources, and even if you mount it as a removable storage device and manually delete everything you can on it once it reboots the dang system gets replaced with a fresh copy (system on a chip???) i dont know for sure but i really hate tablets because nothing can be done to them and i got to run the OS that comes with it, and google store is packed full of crappy spamware, ok rant over because i am digressing, thanks

Absolute and Salix are two distros not listed i can say they are good distros that stick close enough to the parent distro that you can mix packages

Slackware is not using SystemD and has no plans to use it, and more than likely the child/forks of Slackware that stay close to the parent will not include SystemD

because soon i am going to go completely off the grid, no electricity except for solar, water will either be bottled, or if i get dig a well i will put in a lever hand pump, and for heat a wood stove, no more air conditioning and no more refrigeration, i will build a composting toilet which is legal, research composting toilets if anyone plans on going off the grid, i will figure out a way to recharge a cellphone by solar power because i do want to remain in communication with family and friends

the FOSS community wont stand for it, they will just abandon Nvidia and focus on just maintaining drivers for old cards, and put their efforts in to either hacking driver signatures or ignoring the new nvidia cards and focusing on other cards like ATI and Intel

it can still be pirated, just run line level audio-out on your home stereo to audio line-in on a PC and some recording software and BAM! instant pirate, just do a test run or two to make sure you have the mixer volume levels good so it is not too quiet or not so loud that it picks up noise, there is always a sweet spot where it will sound good

because even though they gave away their latest album nobody wanted it

sure they have a few hit songs, and i enjoy listening when they are played on the FM radio but i wont go buying their music, i dont buy any music or movies anymore, i just dont consider my income disposable like that anymore, i rather save it for more important expenses
