Comment Suplant these words? (Score -1) 454

"I will build a car for the great multitude. It will be large enough for the family, but small enough for the individual to run and care for. It will be constructed of the best materials, by the best men to be hired, after the simplest designs that modern engineering can devise. But it will be so low in price that no man making a good salary will be unable to own one — and enjoy with his family the blessing of hours of pleasure in God's great open spaces." -- Henry Ford.

These words might have been written into the Constitution. Good luck to you nihilists who are trying to suplant them.

I have stocks up as little as 15% and as much as 70%. Stock picking still matters. My lower performers (T) do throw off some hefty dividends though. I'm am not wealthy, although I am much more so after this cycle. I am just greedy and willing to take advantage of other people's fear. I knew INTC, and T, and WMT would still be good businesses after the meltdown. If other people lose their long term focus that isn't my problem.

I drive an F-150 crew cab with extended bad alone to work every morning. Its like driving to work in my living room. It is pretty economical though. It gets 17 mpg in 2 wheel drive. About 14 in 4 wheel. Cheap gas is America's birthright and one of the great blessings of this nations. I'm glad the leftists can't mess that up.

Comment INTC stock, a happy story (Score -1) 91

I bought INTC at 15 after the market melted down. It was a great investment based on yield alone not to mention that they are a chip fab without peer. The P/E ws 8. While grandma liquidated her 401K and bought gold. I bought in at a once in a lifetime level. I figured INTC would counter ARM and I was right, all the way to the bank. Suckas.

True, it is more expensive. However because Gazprom is no longer in a monopoly position the Ruskies will be far less able to use natgas as a political weapon. Or perhaps you like that Putin feels emboldened to turn off the gas in January. Use your head. LNG provides great leverage against Russia.

The 90's are calling. They want their failed ideas back. Did anyone ever tell Musk that the only reason that Iridium operates at all is because the assets were bought out of bankrupcy for pennies on the dollar? It wasn't so good for Motorola Space, which no longer exists. Still, it might be a good way for Musk to get more government subsidies.
