3D printing is useless at these frequencies. The metal blocks that the waveguides and mixers live in are machined with a milling machine capable of one micron precision. The dimensions are that critical.

I work in submillimeter wave astronomy, where we would be happy to have a terahertz preamplifier for our receivers. We currently use miers mixer that work at that frequency, but the mixer has to be made with superconducting waveguide to have good performance. There are about five places in the world that know how to make that sort of chip.

Yes, it's reasonable to assume that your cellphone is betraying your every move, if it's on you. The cops ignore the laws anyways - we have to deal with it somehow. The bet way is to not make it easy for them, by using other ways of communicating that don't trigger the cop spying machinery.

Carrying a tracking device is not a good idea if you don't want to be tracked. Cellphones are basically tracking devices that also place phone calls and take photos of incriminating evidence.

Your item #4 is intriguing. I was surprised to see the thing sitting in a shelf in the open with nary a test probe in sight. How *are* they measuring the emitted power?

My nephew showed up with a clean, original model M at robotics meting the other day. He might have gotten it from his dad, my twin brother, a fellow with way too many ancient IBM PCs. Like these.

I get the sense that these folks want to eliminate the non-pixel space between adjacent LCD screens. That will take some fancy screen design, as the connections to the controller chips occur at the edges of the glass. Those connections are currently many pixels wide.

I imagine that someone will figure out a way, but I won't hold my breath.

The disk drive makers, and there are only two left, are companies that have been doing nothing but making disk drives for 30 years. This is true for a reason - they are focused entirely on making disk drives and nothing else, and they have the decades of experience to do it right. Their prices are insanely low and their quality is very high. Google knows that it would never catch up to their abilities.

That 100 per machine is for some unit of time, probably a week.

A key that will open 2000 locks is nothing to sneer at, whatever you choose to call it. It's a very dumb system, defeated by a couple bored high school sophomores in a couple hours.

I used the key to make it easier to open MY lock, and for bragging rights. I had no desire to own anyone else's sports equipment. I'm a slashdot poster, after all.
