Sir! We have a problem!
There is a dedicated team of hackers attempting to plant a virus in our main system.
We think it's a team led by Jeff Goldblum and the Android from Star Trek; Arnold help us if Mr Crusher is involved as well!
Cancel concern; they had a nuke with them with an easy pal code. We lost 10000 units, NBD.
Everyone else in the fray is already simulating nuclear weapon designs on supercomputers.
The hydrodynamic calculations are similar enough the military isn't going to share code with the hyperflight guys, so this will just become another black project to be run by the same people.
This just gives justification for the research disappearing, and stopping any amateur work.
Yeah, I thought Iran or another ME country would Nuke Israel, thus breaking...
the rusty wire that holds the cork
that keeps the anger in
gives way
and suddenly it's day again
the sun is in the east
even though the day is done
two suns in the sunset
hmmmmmmmmm
could be the human race is run...
I digress.
So: No, no Jihadi Idalist, just a Psycho Ex-KGB Agent with delusions of Stalin.
It's nice that we haven't downblended all the Plutonium and Uranium we bought from them; we may need it.
It's nice to know, in the world of Nuclear Overkill, One Trident sub is #3 on the list of "Most Nuclear Weapons".
It's sad to know, that MAD only works with Sane People.
:)
They are the modern Gestapo; Orwell just missed it by a few years.
The future will be the image from the book:
A Boot, Stamping on a Face, Forever.
Yeah, this caught my eye as well.
How much fuel does it take to put a kg of DU on Mars? I would bet it's substantial.
Not only do you have to get it off Earth, You have to slow it down at the end of the trip, unless you want to dig it up and recast it, lol.
"Shielding Shipped Separately."
Not to mention the fact that a solid foot of DU won't "stop" Cosmics; I see ~4V pulses, ~1 per minute most times on systems that see a 511kev pulse at about 200mV. Dealing with that is an important part of a design, lol.
That's just the amount of energy it was able to dump in my detector after going thru a foot or so of lead; it kept going.
