Internet Brands, owner of vBulletin software, has released a fix, but many sites remain vulnerable. Many notable firms use vBulletin software, and this bug could be used to compromise the email addresses and other personal information of thousands of people.

Rackspace Releases Cloud Stack As Open Source 65

zerocool^ writes "Techcrunch is reporting that Rackspace is open-sourcing their cloud computing technologies, under the name OpenStack. Rackspace has chosen to release under the Apache 2.0 license. The initial release encompasses the cloud object storage and cloud virtual server management suites. Along with this release, NASA is contributing technology from its Nebula Cloud Platform. Early partners include Intel, Dell, and Citrix."

chaosdivine69 writes: The BBC reports that a major hurdle to producing fusion energy using lasers has been swept aside, results in a new report show.

The controlled fusion of atoms — creating conditions like those in our Sun — has long been touted as a possible revolutionary energy source.However, there have been doubts about the use of powerful lasers for fusion energy because the "plasma" they create could interrupt the fusion.

An article in Science showed the plasma is far less a problem than expected.

It's the fact that they use SQLite to store so much data. Putting the firefox profile on anything but a local hard drive causes it to become completely unresponsive on a regular basis. I haven't seen any plans by Mozilla to fix this yet, but this completely kills Firefox in any work environment with roaming profiles.
