That's pretty much how 2 of the first semester required courses for Comp Sci at the community college I went to were. Here's a computer, 'you press this button to turn it on after plugging the end of this cord in' Somehow multitasking and how to open a web browser were also required things. My .net teacher was a complete moron too, up to the point of taking points off of the projects we had to do because I included error checking in every single one (apparently I wasn't allowed to use knowledge of programming that I already had, and she hadnt taught that yet!) That was 2 years ago, I dropped out, now I'm joining the military to hopefully get a real education crashcourse style.

The parents knew EVERYTHING that was being said between their daughter and the 'boy' on myspace, and even got into huge fights with her about it. Her mom bitched to a reporter that she fought with her daughter over the language in one of her daughter's responses to him as well as that 'she wouldnt get off the computer when i told her to' Yea, it's definitely not their fault for letting their daughter, whom they knew to have the mental integrity of a wet tissue, get involved in something that ended like this. It makes no difference whether it was lori drew or a legitimate teenage boy, the parents let this happen either way.

There is no twitch in WOW pvp, what are you talking about? The game is all autohit dicerolls of level/item/class vs level/item/class. Asheron's Call had fully twitch based pvp, of course there was auto targetting but you could manually dodge arrows/magic bolts + move while casting allowing for truly fast paced and fluid PVP combat, also allowing 1 person to take on multiple people, or a small group of people to take on a much larger group.
Darkfall is going even further and blending FPS combat (third person perspective for melee, first person for missile/magic) with MMORPG elements. Full loot, no restriction pvp, no levels (entirely based on raising individual skills ala UO), no autotarget/hit, kingdom/city building + siege warfare, essentially complete player freedom to do damn near anything.

The New Deal of Roosevelt's day did NOTHING to help the economy. It merely dragged the depression out into the 50's. You can't fund massive building projects when...holy shit...you have to borrow all the money to fund them! Look into the facts sometime and you will see that Roosevelt did nothing to help the economy other than force it to submit to government intervention when it would have fixed itself within a few years had it been left alone, just as the economy would do in this current crisis. This current crisis is a direct result of Clinton signing NAFTA as well as his policies.

Why ban wikipedia? There is nothing wrong with it. I've been writing research papers for a friend the last few weeks using mostly Wikipedia + the sources linked from the pages to write the majority of them, and gotten A's on all of them so far while trashed. These are college papers for a history degree. The wealth of knowledge on wikipedia is great if you fact check / have an ounce of common sense which is all that's required to tell if they are fake or not.

I never said they occurred with guns, it's simply a matter of verifiable fact that violent crime rates in both countries have gone up almost every single year since the hand gun ban was put into effect. It doesn't matter what weapon is used, it matters that the people have been deprived of self defense making it far *safer* for criminals to prey on them.
It is also still a fact that 1-2 million crimes are prevented in the US every year by people using guns to scare off criminals/protect themselves. It's also a fact that the most dangerous places in the US are those with gun bans. Look at washington DC, or hell, all of the 'gun free zones' in the US where mass, or attempted mass, shootings have occurred.

If someone comes at me, armed or not, with the intent of harming me or stealing from me, I will leave them with a permanent disability, most lucky the inability to ever have children or to use one of their eyes. The wanton violence and disregard for other's rights that criminals have because the law protects them from being justly dealt with in self defense is disgusting and needs to end. If every time a mugger tried to steal an old woman's person they got shot in the face, there'd be a whole lot less muggings.

There aren't droves of criminals out to mug/rape/kill the average person, but here are the facts. Guns are used by those same innocent citizens, on average, ~2million times per year to scare off attackers / stop crimes from happening. Look at, iirc, Kennesaw, Georgia. They passed a law ~30years ago mandating that every head of household must own and maintain a firearm, and within a year crime became almost nonexistant.
Now, look at Australia/Britain, where after the handgun bans were passed, home invasion w/ the family/owner being home SKYROCKETED. Why? Because criminals have nothing to fear from someone they know for a fact will not be able to defend themselves. Nearly every single criminal/former gang member interviewed gives the same answer when asked 'what was your biggest fear when mugging/jumping someone?' "that they have a gun"
