Real Reason Why the White iPhone 4 Is Delayed 182

tekgoblin writes "There have been numerous reasons why the White iPhone 4 may be delayed with one reason being the color mismatch between the home button and the body. Well this time there is another reason. A source has told CultofMac that the reason for the delay is a light leakage issue caused by the case being clear. Light from the case leaks into pictures taken by the back and front camera on the white iPhone 4, causing distorted pictures. This problem is non-existent on the black iPhone 4, because of its already black case, so Apple has been looking for a solution to this problem, thus the delay of the White iPhone 4 till spring of next year."

An anonymous reader sends in a nostalgic piece about Dungeons & Dragons and the influence it's had on games and gamers for the past 36 years. Quoting: "Maybe there was something in the air during the early '70s. Maybe it was historically inevitable. hint3 writes: Fabrice Bellard has calculated Pi to about 2.7 trillion decimal digits increasing the previous record by over 120 billion digits. While the improvement seems small, it is an outstanding achievement because only a single desktop PC costing less than 3000 dollars was used instead of a multi-million dollar supercomputer as in the previous records.

Well, you'd say, obviously!
Disclaimer: I own a Pleo.
I know that it's not engaging as it could be a cat, but it can be engaging as it could be -say- a turtle.
Of course this is just an attempt at AI, with some life simulation; so there's nothing like neural-network-simulated-synapses-AI-supercomputer-MIT-experiment, you know.
What's nice is that there have been a couple firmware upgrades, with actually different 'global' behaviours, and there are a few 'SD' behaviours that can change the way Pleo reacts to external activities.
All in all, it is nice to have the thing moving around in the explore mode, and toy with it and make it purr or barf or stand on two legs :-)

Paolo DF writes: There is not much to say: Geocities is closing today. It has been a sign of the rising "Internet for everyone" era. You may love it, or hate it, but millions of people had their first contact with a web presence right here.
I know it's something that most slasfotters will see as a n00b thing, and that the Internet was fine *before* Geocities, but I still think that nevertheless some credit is due. Heck, there's even a modified xkcd homepage for that!

My review take it for what it is mine. (I provide my story so that you can see why I purchased this computer. If you don’t care, don’t read the review).

To me, Mac always seemed like it would take a leap of faith. Having had very little interaction with Macs and even less knowledge about them, I was set to be a Windows boy for life. However, recently I found out that I will be going on a ship that is gone all of the time (I’m in the Navy). Needing to have my kids see me reading books to them and me needing to see my kids, I planned on leaving my current laptop with my wife and getting a new one for me (she doesn’t care about electronics). This way we could create DVDs and send them to each other for our kids and myself. I went into a store looking to spend not too much and was attracted by the HP entertainment laptops. However when looking at a $[...] laptop I knew I would have to add an anti-virus ($[...]-$[...]) and a movie making program ($[...]-$[...]). The guy at the store told me that for what I was looking at in price I should check out the Macs.

I don't know... If you read the quote (copy&paste from BBC website):
"The basic principle in the mobile industry is that those companies who contribute in technology development to establish standards create intellectual property, which others then need to compensate for," said Ilkka Rahnasto, vice president of Legal & Intellectual Property at Nokia.
"Apple is also expected to follow this principle."

It seems that is more of a 'gentlemen agreement' thing.
I am not a native English speaker, though.

It would be helpful to know the balance on my account daily and have a report to give to my employer."

I have some experience with PHP based web apps, but my weapon of choice is Linux System Administration. So I may be way off here, but how hard could it be to do this? Just a bunch of lazy admins maybe?
