Having worked in Motorola research (and later the cellular infrastructure), a long time ago, my first reaction was "Wow, Motorola has finally got some balls!" Then I remembered that it is now Google.

Yes! Let's ask Watson!
In engineering circles, it is called the "Broken Microsoft Windows Phallusy"
The government influenced the Chernobyl design to induce a meltdown and create The Zone for investigation of anomalies. To Duty, this was a terrible disaster, except for the thrill of shooting mutants. To Freedom, it opened opportunities for exploration, and the thrill of shooting mutants. To the government and the military, The Zone provided an area for secret research, and an abundance of mutants and STALKERs to shoot.
Imagine the frustration of those who have a clear concept of how things should be done and everyone else, even those who claim to agree, are f-mucking it up. Were I not required to work cooperatively in an office with people, I would have no excuse for patience and soft words. Were it the situation that I was on a tirade and you were suggesting that I was "over the top," I would group you among those who don't get it. But, I'm not doing that..we're kewl here....Hi-5!
Amusement park rides of the future are going to be awesome!
The next idea to blow the mind of every man, woman, and child, will be introduced by someone who has access to a great artificial intelligence and probably wont understand the science.
Describe the issues to your supervisor in terms of extra time and difficulty to maintain, and/or poor performance and production bugs/issues. If the code works well enough and nobody has to maintain it, then management wont care. It becomes a simple matter of how much you care about the "sanctity of code." Back to the question... Rewrite a portion of the code to show how much better it can be.
Courts? We don't need Big Brother to watch the big-wig CEO's. Big Brother is their corrupt brother. We need Little Brother--the same public scrutiny that celebrities face. Paparazzi.
Antivirus always has been a fear mongering despicable business.
XBox 360 gamers voting for "awesome" drone strikes unwittingly validate their own suspected terrorist status, firing missiles into each other's homes. However, some Kinect users' experiences varied.
ALWAYS always always install your own software at the Playboy Mansion.
Perhaps we need an impractical leap. Are we not tired of trying to figure how to best store our data in directory structures? Do you create folders for your photos by date, by photographer, by subject/content, by location? A filesystem based on tagging would demand design changes in all applications. Death to the file browser. I don't want to organize my files, I want them to organize themselves. When you change your context, the data/files you wish to see present themselves. For ClearCase users, imagine something like a View.
I do feel hyped. I wish there wasn't an article every week promising new wonders that if they ever come to pass I've long forgotten about them. I love it when technology simply comes to market and POW, suddenly we all have megapixel cameras on our cell phones... The industry didn't blah-blah about that for years.
I believe the team from Gamera II has another radical solution.
Real Programmers don't eat quiche. They eat Twinkies and Szechwan food.
