Knowing next to nothing about what makes kernel code good or cruft what did Google submit that is cruft?

I am not a partisan in this, I really want to know. I chose to ask this question here because you seem passionate about this. I read a bit about the wake lock driver changes forever ago. There seemed to be a lot of disdain for that model at the time.

Aside from that, is there something that the OS community could do to help inform google? I ask only because android seems to be a wonderful means to an end. More than anything before it android could actually make this the year of the linux desktop. (I feel dirty for having said that)

It isn't just you. Neal Stephenson has gotten VERY long winded. His early works were much better, and very good, in my opinion.

As to whether a christian should follow the laws of the old testament.. well, you just couldn't be more wrong. The roman form of christianity that you leaned doesn't follow them because the romans weren't jews. The bible however, even in its roman form, is very clear on the old laws. (as clear as the bible gets at least)

Lastly, I cannot think of a nice way of saying this but every form of christianity is a bastardized form. Certainly, some are more and some are less so but that changes little.

Have to agree with geekoid on this. Bending the facts to fit your belief is never the right thing to do. It is simply the wrong answer to "If fact and faith disagree, which should change?".

Not sure what issue you had but I just gave it a go and it was quite smooth. The game it's self isn't my cup of tea but it ran just fine. Narration was funny, if I could have use my controller I prob would have played at least to the end of the demo..

Apple doesn't make much off of iTunes compared to the rest of their income, but 1.25B/Qtr is a friking BIG company.

While it may be true that Google's users are indeed it's products and advertisers are it's customers it is sloppy logic to see this as a bad thing.

Humans are a fairly unique product. We possess both free will and emotions. It is in Google's best interest to make sure that their product is never injured or angered in any way. Also, if Google wishes to keep or grow their production they must provide new and interesting things. Being a product is actually a very pleasant experience as long as you always have the option to leave. Pretty sure trophy girlfriends figured this out millenia ago ^^

With a pretty high degree of certainty I can say that you did not have a substantial sales staff. Even in the very small companies where I have worked, sales staff drives the cost of support through the roof. Easily the least computer literate group on the planet.

The title and summary both suggest this is over. I was under the impression that the request to the DoJ had just begun. That is it should read, "is seeking" not "sought"?

Back in the days of the dotcom bubble I worked for a company that sent a LOT of email (read that as you will). Hotmail was the only major email service that never complained or blocked our servers. I don't know when MS bought them but I doubt they were so lackadaisical just because of the purchase.
