The progress is that your documents are not bound to the local computer/network they are stored on. Cloud-based apps let you use any computer or smartphone to interact with your docs. The changes are saved into the cloud.

Here's something to consider... today if somebody steals your laptop they get all of your docs, passwords, email (if you use an email client) and everything else stored locally. In a cloud-based situation none of your docs were stored locally. So only the physical machine is lost and none of your data was stolen.

I work for a "rich corporation". We have not had the means to increase our staff in over 2 years. Over that period nobody has gotten raises or bonuses either. The Democrats would like to see the Bush tax cuts expire and see the balance sheet of corporations take an additional 3% tax hit. Lovely.

Haha! Nope. This is... Google Wave. Anybody remember that that Australian guy that just left Google to work at Facebook? Yep, Wave was his brainchild and his last project for Google. It was all about "conversations" and such. Lars Rasmussen will finally see Wave go prime-time. It'll just be a highly streamlined/tailored version for Facebook. You guys remember the big Wave beta video where people were calling Wave a Facebook Killer? Ironic.

To the end-customer, Android offers choice. There are many different form factors and carriers to choose from. I can choose my phone based on what I primarily need my phone to do for me. People like having options.

Republican: The government should have a say in what is wright & wrong but the government should keep its hands out of the free-markets and individual profit.
Democrat: The government should not try to shape morality whatsoever but it does need to regulate the free-market and the distribution of profits to prevent greed and keep the market fair for all.
Authoritarian: Everyone benefits from government regulation of the markets as well as the using legislation to make sure that the citizens have a moral framework to abide by.
Libertarian: Individuals should be free to make their own decisions on their personal moral convictions. Individuals should also be free to earn an honest living however they like; and spend/give their honestly earned profits any way they like. The Constitution permits the government a very short list of things they may tax for and legislate. Overstepping that amounts to legalized theft and an infringement of individual liberty.
