Submission + - Debian 5.0, codenamed "Lenny", released (debian.org)
busfahrer writes: Almost two years after their last stable release, the Debian developers have announced the immediate availability of version 5.0, codenamed "Lenny". The codename for the next release (and thus, the moniker for the new "testing" branch) will be "Squeeze". Among other things, netbook support has been greatly improved. Included are: the Linux kernel 2.6.26, Gnome 2.22.2, KDE 3.5.10, gcc 4.3.2 and 25,000 other software packages.
