How One School District Handled Rolling Out 20,000 iPads 285

First time accepted submitter Gamoid writes This past school year, the Coachella Valley Unified School District gave out iPads to every single student. The good news is that kids love them, and only 6 of them got stolen or went missing. The bad news is, these iPads are sucking so much bandwidth that it's keeping neighboring school districts from getting online. Here's why the CVUSD is considering becoming its own ISP.

All this info, just lying around, in case they need it. They wanna see what kind of home improvement crap I bought, what brand of tortilla chips I eat, where I gas up at, when I occasionally call on the phone, perhaps they'd like a scratch n sniff X-ray of my colon before I had a polyp removed. Maybe they'd like to hear the last obnoxious joke I told with the punchline of Hillary carrying Obamas two headed love child to term before marinating it in jalepeno barbeque sauce.

I'm pretty boring, and I hate and distrust the charlatans misusing the government, like any other human on the planet. But it's nice to see that one day they will have spent everything I ever paid in taxes on hardware to store my unused trivia.
LOL, yeah Omama is gonna PROTECT us from terrorists and is busily doing everything he can think of with that baseball sized head of his. Him n his Repubmocrat buddies gonna start a PROGRAM to look into what could help and appoint a commitee to get a feel for what the Corporations would agree to and talk about a solution and it's effect on the economy, while appeasing the voters.

It's a complete non-statement. No politics are necessary for this scenario.

They're a dated joke on tour hoping a next generation is absent enough to care. Buy a ticket, look around, it's their fans from the 90s being sentimental on this "come back" tour. No, I just oppose the trendy over-utilization of politics in art as a quick boost to revenue. It compromises the art and degrades it as the political environment changes.

One pariah, producers of art should make note of is; watch what happens when you mix political statements with art; it fades to obscurity faster than if you'd produced art based on other themes. Examples: WWII Warner Bros. Cartoons, Folk Music, Viet Nam Documentaries, Jane Fondas Career, Pearl Jam, old punk albums, election buttons and the list goes on and on and on. Politics and art are an infamously bad combination.

Equality between the sexes has been a hot political topic for decades. THORina isn't going anywhere but away.
You might make note that religion comics aren't generally found double bagged with astronomical collectors prices, either.
There are just some subjects better left out of escapist art.
