If the equipment is remote and not easily accessible you had better have good CLI skills. If your system looses data connectivity and you have to dial in through Iridium or a dial up modem a GUI is of no use. GUIs dont work very well at 19200 baud.

I have tested one of these things out. If you go out of coverage area pretty regularly but only need your phone in an extreme emergency this phone might be useful as a replacement for an iridium. The problem is you have to use a hands free headset to make the satellite service work. You also have to peak in the phone to get a good link to the satellite then maintain the pointing of the phone throughout the conversation else you drop the call. This is actually pretty difficult to do. The delay on the phone is also about 1 second witch makes conversations very difficult.

including the f*ck tards. I freaked out when they made it ok to teach bible as a history elective here in Louisiana, but it was an elective. Although there are only two reasons 95% of the kids would take that class: 1. There parents make them 2. there is a member of the opposite sex they want to have intercourse with is signing up to that class. This is WAAAAY worse. It is not an elective. Our children our being forced to learn skewed history in order to serve some ass clowns agenda. All I can say is parents teach your children to "Think for yourself and question authority(Timothy Leary)" If you have never read the poem look it up and read it.

Also, I recall a conversation about touch interfaces where /.ers were saying it was a useless fad because the keyboard and mouse were the height of usability. Teach cursive, give kids touch enabled computers, and the physical keyboard will fade into oblivion.

Are you suggesting handwriting recognition? As soon as I see anything that can read my handwriting consistently I will give this a slight chance at replacing the keyboard in some situations, but I cant even read my handwriting consistently. I haven't written written anything but my name in cursive since the 6th grade because it was absolutely eligible. There are some of us out here that are not capable of writing legibly. Using computers more would have made my primary school career much much simpler, and they made me do more on computers than anybody else in the mid 80's.
