If we sent illegal aliens home rather than coddling them and giving them amnesty despite breaking the law, disease infection wouldn't be an issue, would it?

Why should I have to pay for rehab for a drunk? They're the ones who couldn't control themselves. As I said in the beginning, if they have money to buy alcohol they have money to pay for their own treatment. In fact, this would address two issues: they would have to go to rehab or face jail and by spending money on rehab they'd have less money to spend on purchasing alcohol.

Amazon had revenues over the last twelve months of roughly $75 Billion

And yet they still lost money and have been for at least the last 2 years (possibly 3 once this years numbers come out).

If Amazon is having losses because of their upgrades (such as this warehouse stuff), then this might pay off down the line. However, if they're losing money because they're over extended, not so good.

I distinctly remember after the crash there were comparisons between the way ambulance service is done in this country and how it is done in (most of) France.

Here, the general rule is scoop and go whereas in France the idea is perform treatment on the spot then get the person to a hospital.

This difference was used to explain why she died (bled out from internal injuries). The idea was, and as others on here have already commented, had she been taken directly to a hospital she had a better chance of survival than being held at the scene for nearly two hours while they worked on her.

For reference.

We, the taxpayers, have already paid hundreds of billions to private companies to give us the astoundingly fast broadband speed of 10 Mbps (on average) in this country, two DECADES after these same companies assured us they would get us 45 Mbps by 2010.

There are already enough fees levied on users, for numerous such issues, that money can be moved from area to another if necessary.

Instead of adding more costs to consumers, how about having the companies do this work for free since they failed so miserably the last time we gave them taxpayer money? Considering the sorry state of affairs of broadband in this country, this is the absolute least these folks could do to justify their existence.
