"Microsoft is expected to announce late Thursday that it's partnering with Novell Inc., its longtime rival in the market for computer operating system software, to support Novell's version of Linux, according to a report on the Wall Street Journal's Web site.
The report comes one week after Oracle Chief Executive Larry Ellison said his firm would sell support services to its customers who also use Red Hat's version of Linux — for much less than Red Hat charges for the same service."
