I've been of the view for some time that the patents in an industry should last one and a bit product life-cycles. This would mean that in IT, a genuine patent would last ~4 years at most.

Radio NZ did a 40 minute interview with evolutionary biologist Alan Cooper (the lead researcher) on Saturday. It is well worth a listen if you've got the time.

On the few occasions that the scammers have managed to get hold of me, this is a game that I have played. Normally with the assistance of a Linux or ReactOS VM (ReactOS works quite well for this because it behaves just like Windows, but the various remote access apps they want to use will fail to run correctly). So far my record is 80 minutes of pretending to be a bit wet behind the ears.

I wonder how much it would cost to simply buy 51% of Eolas? If the shares are publicly traded, with 23 companies being sued it might even be possible for them to buy a small share parcel each without too much notice.

In both my current car (Subaru Impreza WRX) and my previous car (Mazda Lantis V6) - both manual, the fuel cut off point is 1200 RPM. I believe that cut off point in a similar auto is about 1500 RPM.
