Comment Never underestimate (Score 1) 275

Why high priced proprietary memory? Never underestimate the greed of a corporation that cares nothing about its customers. In fact they are part of an entire industry that blatantly accuses its entire customer base of being thieves on a regular basis. Read the warning on every Sony movie or music cd. Why on earth would ANYONE be surprised that Sony went the low road and did what's best for them instead of the customers? Better question, why in hell do people keep supporting these business practices by purchasing Sony products? It just tells them we would rather be treated like dung than go without call of duty. Pathetic but true.

Sweetness. Guess I haven't been over on Cyanogenmod for a little too long as I didn't realize Koush was this close. I just happen to have a Nexus S and am a Cyanogen Advocate. I've been running Cyan Roms since about ver3 on my G1 way back and have found that if bugs appear, it usually gets fixed or a workaround is posted fairly quickly. I can actually say I trust most of the Cyanogen stuff to not brick my devices but I do reserve that I have a little experience with this type of thing. Can't wait to go get me an Ice Cream Sandwich !

Unfortunately this is the status quo. It's been long known companies like IBM, Microsoft, and Blockbuster, have been paying hordes to scavenge google or bing for posts like " Win 7 sucks" or Win 7 just as bad, and then post things like " I don't know, I have 3 computers running it and have zero issues like you say. Might be your hardware. This is just bringing it to the mainstreams attention IMO. I guess the days are coming to an end when I go to Best Buy to get something and look it up on my phone to get reviews. Now the kicker: How many times have you went to buy something from a non name brand and looked them up before using your credit card? Say you Google " mom and pop xx widgets R us" and the word scam or fraud. Well, when do the scammers start flooding the results to show stellar listings for the latest fraud sites? Kind of changes the whole community concept doesn't it? .. Just something to think about.

Usually having a phone number is great!... for the spammers. It now gives them another reference for you and more info to sell and abuse. as for unsubscribing, well, that just shows them that a live human actually is at that address and reading email from spammers.. Goldstrike if you called and unsubscribed.

No, this isn't Net Neutrality. It is fraud. Getting you to pay extra to actually use your plan you paid for. The problem? Well, maybe 1% of Verizon customers read /. or have a clue what is "really" happening behind the scenes and being this is Verizon, there will be nothing done legislatively (they own most of the spokes hole politicians in Kalifornia at least. What this means is most will begin paying extra until the only way to use your phone will be to pay for the upgrade. Verizon figured out yet another way to pinch a little piece of your pay check.
