Submission + - "itsatrap" tagging

fonteyne writes: Just glanced at the latest first page news here at /. and found out of the 20 articles listed, 15 were tagged with "itsatrap". Frankly I think that that tag has gone into spam mode. If I understand the idea behind the tags - to enable better/faster searches - then the "itsatrap" tag is just going to lump together a bunch of articles that are not "traps" and have pretty much nothing else in common with each other besides the over used tag.

I am not able to submit my own tags to these stories, but I am certain that I could come up with something better than "itsatrap". If the tags are going to be useful, start using keywords that actually make sense and stop spamming articles with stupid tags. Of course, this entry should probably be tagged with "itsatrap".

Submission + - Is amateur video is today's desktop publishing?

narramissic writes: We've all chuckled at the knucklehead videos on YouTube, but it wasn't so long ago that we also chuckled at desktop publishers who dared to try do-it-yourself graphic design. In this article, Sean McGrath ponders whether 'professionally produced' video will always be beyond what amateurs can produce or whether it will go the way of DTP, with technology improvements and increasingly savvy users pushing the bounds.
