Comment Epson all in one (Score -1) 381

All the best features: When it THINKS it is out of ink, printer shuts down, cannot even use the scanner! No actual ink measurement capability. Chip on ink cartridge keeps tabs on # pages and cleaning cycles and ESTIMATES when ink should be out, no relation to reality. SUCK IT EPSON.

Comment Like we need more taxes? (Score -1) 658

The Oregon state budget is currently north of $30 BILLION PER YEAR. That is $7800 per man, woman, and child. Then Gov. Taxhober (Kitzhaber) came back in a special session for another $250 million, cause $30 bil is just not quite enough. Can't wait for the exemptions to start flowing. One other note, if you are Tier 1 Public Employee Retirement System participant in Oregon(pre 1996) at 30 years you now retire at 110% of current pay. Yes, MORE than you were making working. So you could be 50 years old and we will be paying for your ass for 50 years. PERS is currently $3 billion+ cost for Oregon taxpayers. Nice gig when you can get it!!

Comment Centralized generation will not be the solution! (Score -1) 377

The only hope of cheap power is distributed homeowner owned generation. Anything centralized will be sold at market or even higher "green" rates forever, and i do not believe those rates will ever come down. If you had 3x the generation capacity you needed, why would you ever sell the excess for less than what it is worth?

With 2,600,000 km3 of ice on Greenland that is 2,600,000,000,000,000 tonnes. There are 1,000,000,000 tonnes per 1 Gigatonne So we have 2,600,000 Gigatonnes of ice in Greenland. With a loss of 200 Gigatonnes/year we are seeing a loss rate of 0.0077% per year So if it remains a linear loss rate, it will all be gone in only 13,000 years. I figure Antarctica will take a little longer. And it does not look like the plots showed acceleration, since the slope was constant?

Comment what amendment (Score -1) 102

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, ... describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized. So my internet "papers and things" are not already included in the 4th amendment protections? Aren't they simply the modern version of my papers?
