Comment The Fossile Fuel Advocates can fuck off! (Score 0) 401

I'm getting tired of the anti-intellectualism here on Slashdot. But look, I want inventions to come along to where we aren't burning coal to make electricity and paying hundreds of US or Canadian or Euro Dollars in money to put Gasoline in our Cars. It SUCKS! and we need to do what ever it takes to find a way to make electricity generation so inexpensive and cost so little that all we have to pay for is the upkeep of the facilities and infrastructure. But I don't want to see smoke stacks belching smoke, and I don't want to see cars that spew Carbon Monoxide. There must be a way. Figure out what that way is.

Stop listening to the Pro-Fossil Fuel Drivel!

Comment Removing the DMCA is not possible. (Score 1) 129

Removing the DMCA is not possible. It would require a complete revolution against the US Government on the issue eliminating all participants in every branch of the Government as too many people see the rights of users to control their electronic equipment as the catalyst for a world wide economic depression the likes of which we have never seen,

The US Population has been conditioned since the days of the Atari 2600 Crash of 1983 to believe that limiations on who has the right to make software should be tightly controlled and if its not the result is Market Collapse. This is because the NES "Saved" the Video game industry.

This is a temporary Measure at best. I see alot of anti-liberal and pro-conservative posts here. Let me make myself absolutely clear:

I'm not pro-development, I'm anti-living-in-the-past and reactionary-ism.

I don't think that cars are a bad thing in and of themselves. I think that cars burning petroleum is a bad thing. We should have cars, everyone needs cars, modernity is built around people having cars. But our cars should not be burning Petroleum. They should run on Electricity or some other Fuel source. There are companies working on that very idea.

Another idea is generating electricity in general. Electricity should be everywhere. We should use many methods to generate it as possible, Hydro Electric damns, Fusion plants, Solar panels, Next Generation Nuclear Fission Plants (not necessarily unsafe ones where the fuel can be weaponized to make an Atomic Bomb.) Wind Turbines, and any number of things, the one thing we shouldn't be doing, is mining and burning Coal.

I never thought Slashdot would become a Michael Savage Bastion of Conservative Clap-traps but it has.

Comment Energy Conservation (Score 4, Insightful) 710

People need electricity to conduct the business of their lives. The issue is not that we use electricity, Electricity isn't a pollutant, burning coal is a Pollutant. Electricity use isn't going to go down. The stupidity of this, is that we don't have Thorium power plants, or Microwave Satellites. (I think the reason Solar Power is failing is because the Earth's atmosphere is creating problems for the sun's Energy to reach us, but I could be wrong.)

But we're not, we are still, burning, to our own stupid jackassery, coal. It's insane.
