I just figured out why I never post to this thing, look at my last post, it looks like absolute shit. Why don't the code monkeys for this place let you at least upload a plain text file and post it that way of they insist on being lazy sacks of shit.

Not that the presense of a PTR (reverse) record in DNS signifies absolute employment of an IP address, but in the days where anything not being a server should be behind NAT for security reasons, one has to ask the question, why does BCAA need almost 13,000 ip addresses, and of those nearly 13,000 ip addresses, how many do you suppose they actually use?

I've been so wrapped up with work that I forgot to post here. I was able to obtain the new firmware from Linksys thanks to help from David Turner of the FSF (novalis@fsf.org). One month after speaking with him Linksys released the firmware. I think its more of an administrative issue as opposed to Linksys not actually wanting to release it.

Now to go after Netgear...

I have been attempting to obtain updated firmware from Linksys for the RV042 VPN router (specifically although I'm equally interested in updated firmware for other devices), with little success. I've been meaning to journal my acitivites for some time and so I thought, what better place than here?!

So I've converted my correspondence with Linksys into downloadble PDF documents which I'll link here:
