It's difficult not to become jaded after years of (re)fixing computers or being forced to work with ridiculous arrangements because regular users insist on their dancing pigs.
Since PCI has turned into a huge deal, this has only gotten even more irritating.
Yep. We're to the point where the factors that limit realism are knowledge/understanding of the materials and lights of the artist (or rather their knowledge of how to tell their renderer of choice about this stuff). We've got the computing power to make unbiased photon mapping / path-tracing practical these days, and the physics behind everything are understood well enough to fool the eye.
FF's got some subsurface scattering problems. It was close, I'll give you that.
I'd like to see that (the indistinguishable part, not the actual subject matter).
Rendering has come far, but not far enough that you'd find that kind of art in random porn.
"Gamergate?"
I'm about to make a death-threat myself.
So, where's this Utopia hiding?
From my understanding, HFCS does something to inhibit ghrelin's function, so your gut doesn't tell your brain you're not hungry anymore until you've eaten/drank a lot more.
In other words, if you're consuming the same stuff as someone else but yours has HFCS instead of sugar, you're going to want a significantly larger amount of it before satiation.
All of the nope.
Show me ads, I block them or go elsewhere.
Can you turn it off? No? Bug.
Assuming you know better than a user (when it comes to output) is always a bug.
chmod -x `which pulseaudio` should help prevent it from recurring...
Don't forget to uninstall Pottering. PulseAudio was just the beginning.
... also makes you less attractive to parasites that use CO2 to find you, such as mosquitos.
Your real problem is that you don't have a homogenous environment. If everything you managed was rhel, you'd have a much easier time of it.
We have the same problem at work. Everyone is fine on the rhel boxes. But when the opensuse stuff comes around, good luck. When one of the solaris 10 machines acts up (we are stuck with that version for reasons outside of our control) there's only one other person than myself who has any kind of an idea.
I tried to get back into it.
I shortly drowned in USE flags.
There's too fucking many of them for them to be presented sensibly in an alphabetical list. They need some organization.
Anyone can make an omelet with eggs. The trick is to make one with none.
