I need to stop using my old dying 19" 5:4 1280x1024 Samsung SyncMaster monitor (turning on sometimes shows power light and picture blinking on and off in the cold room), so it is time for me to find and buy a new bigger and better monitor. Here is what I am looking for:

-Less than 25" horizontal width (screen + borders)
-Less than 22" vertical height (screen + borders + stand)
-Need to be able easily (I'm a weak guy) to rotate/move monitor due to the annoying sun shining on to it since window blinds don't help. Glossy screens might be problematic?
-Limited desk space due to bookshelves and stuff.
-Adjustable height and tiltable.
-Still need VGA (still use it 99% of the times with my Beklin KVM from Y2K) and DVI ports for very old computer setups (Linux, Windows, and Mac). Still using old ATI Radeon 4870 and GeForce 8800 GT video cards (512 MB of VRAM).
-8-bit colors (16.7 million colors).
-High resolution (more than my old monitor's 1280x1024!).
-Extra features not needed unless they are included for free: touch screen, built in speakers, 4K, screen rotation, etc.
-Do a lot of Internet, watching videos [16:9 (1920x1080) aspect ratio], some gaming (action/FPS too so fast speeds are required; less than 5? ms response times?; no IPS panels), basic graphic work, etc.
-less than $200 including taxes, etc.

I want to see the new monitor in person with local retail stores like Costco, Best Buy, Fry's Electronics, etc. before buying to be sure I like it.

I upgraded my client's old iPhone 4S to iOS 8 from v7.1.2. I warned him of the side effects. Slower, more resources, and unable to revert/downgrade. He was OK with that even thought it was slower. At least he has security fixes for now.

It bugs me that things need to copied. Why not try something new? Gah!

I didn't even know China users could use Gmail. I always thought it was blocked.

That is why I loved Mac OS X. BSD/Unix power and I know Linux. Classic Mac OS couldn't do that. Same for Apple //c's before I went to IBM side.

Yep. Even early day with Woz were cool too since I had an //c. I wasn't a fan of early MacOS (before X) though.

It's not just network. Just not good as they used to be.
