Well, if you have such great advantages, why should I stand in the middle of a field and let you drop bombs on me? Why shouldn't I go and hide in areas full of innocents? Because it's cowardly to hide where you won't shoot?
If you want to hide, go right ahead. Except sooner or later I might get annoyed enough to hunt you down wherever you are.
It's equally cowardly to drop a bomb on me from well outside my range of engagement.
It's not cowardly, it's smart. Why expose your troops to enemy fire when you don't have to. Remember, the goal is to kill more of the enemy than they kill of you.
So basically, you can argue all you like but you're not going to talk the enemy into engaging in a fight they can't win: to do so would be stupid.
Then they should surrender and stop fighting.
Nope it's smart. If I can do that, and demonstrate that I can destroy you with impunity, you might realize that you really should just surrender. Then the killing stops.
Sure, your SMB, Zelda, Contra, etc type games were better on the SNES... but what about Sim City (and 2000), Civilization, Command and Conquer, Warcraft 1&2, Star Control 2, Ultima 6-8, Wing Commander, X-wing and Tie Fighter? All of these were amazing DOS games, and either didn't have console versions, or if there were, they weren't quite the same (the SimCity,Civilization and Wing Commander for SNES come to mind)
Those later DOS games should be compared to PSOne games, not SNES.
Hardest? They have got a PS4, PS3 AND Vita port! While it's probably not as simple as "./configure && make && make install" for the new platform it should be similar enough. The PS4 runs a full on BSD for goodness sake.

The American Military has advantages, it uses them. It is not cowardly to use one's military advantages. If I have a gun that shoots a mile and yours only shoots a half a mile, why should I close to a half a mile, I should stay out of your range and kill you when you are easy prey and can't shoot back.

The GT600 series isn't all Fermi like the GT500 and 400 series, some of the 600's are Kepler. And those Kepler ones are the ones that are still available.
The whole 600 series is a mish mash with multiple card variants sharing the same model number.
For example there are 5 versions of the GT640, one of which is a Fermi, the rest are Kepler, 3 are DDR3, two are GDDR5, 3 are OEM only, two are retail. One of which, the rev2 variant is only slightly less powerful than a stock GTX650, runs cooler and uses less power.

And why I regard DevOps as a disaster in the making. While "DevOps" isn't bad for small companies, like ones I've worked for, where you 'wear many hats' or a rapidly moving R and D environment it is very dangerous in a real production environment. Of course clueless management will use "DevOps" as a cost cutting measure and then after the disaster fire everyone and outsource everything, often with even worse results, for what is essentially bad management.
But hey, they were Agile, Nimble, flexible, idiot sourced, and buzz word compliant.
What about a PlayStation 2? Be nice to have a modern Linux on it.

It would seems from articles like this the situation is dire. Or why the hysteria?
I keep asking this question and no one seems to have a good answer. How can an economy as small as Greece's; or for that matter Italy's and Spain's; send global markets and economies as big as Germany and the US into a tailspin? There is somethings very wrong with our financial and economic policies. All this tight binding of economies and fifnacial systems seems to be a recipe for disaster.
Individually they may not be much, but they do add up because there are a lot of them. And you never know when one of them might decide to be more active and run a scan or whatever. Sure it was worse when we didn't have quad core and better CPU's but we are not imagining things.
And every service run is one more thing one has to keep an eye on. Yeah I run Linux, but I still don't run too many services.
