Comment Why can Greece destroy the global economy? (Score 3, Interesting) 359

I keep asking this question and no one seems to have a good answer. How can an economy as small as Greece's; or for that matter Italy's and Spain's; send global markets and economies as big as Germany and the US into a tailspin? There is somethings very wrong with our financial and economic policies. All this tight binding of economies and fifnacial systems seems to be a recipe for disaster.

Individually they may not be much, but they do add up because there are a lot of them. And you never know when one of them might decide to be more active and run a scan or whatever. Sure it was worse when we didn't have quad core and better CPU's but we are not imagining things.

And every service run is one more thing one has to keep an eye on. Yeah I run Linux, but I still don't run too many services.

Yeah, that "new law" one is f'ing annoying. It's been a "new law" since, uhm, for as long as I've been buying insurance? News flash: You pay different insurance rates based on your driving profile! WOW. They've started changing up the wording with other non sequiturs, but it's the same crap ad. (Why would the DMV give two shits about how much I'm paying for insurance?)

A mid-air collision or some one on the ground who gets killed by the fire would have been manslaughter. Drone owners are idiots. News channels with helicopters ask permission and coordinate, and the Forest Service does so as they are mandated to respect freedom of the press. We need to license drones just like we do light aircraft and require training. Get rid of the idiots.

Really. Did they do a controlled study? How did they factor in the complexity of the problem domain, the experience of their developers, the efficiency of their tools etc.? Or is this just another buzz word compliant"'it worked for me marketing gimmick? Does it scale based on project and team size? What about global projects where the team may be in Europe, N. Sorry, it sounds like crap to me.

They are a global taxi service with centralized command and control. A taxi service which does not want to be treated as a taxi service. The only difference is they use a smart phone app as a dispatcher.

They lie about what they are and elicit sympathy for the 'little guy' to rip off the little guy. I will use the independents instead, thank you.
