Over here in Holland, we rarely see people wearing such helmets. Actually the only ones who wear them are some children, and that's only because they tend to be more reckless and/or can't estimate the dangers too well. After the age of 8-9, they too stop wearing them. Almost everybody here knows how to ride a bike and if you see how we do that; driving through busy traffic, together with cars, buses etc. on the same lane, all without helmets. Sure, accidents happen, but I can't remember one incident where a helmet would've proven useful. Most of the times a protective suit like you wear on a motorcycle would've been better
Yep. I also remember paying close to 20 guilders (let's see
Yep. This is how I connect to things if I'm on a public network. Just 'ssh your-host -D 1080' , configure your firefox/whatever to use a SOCKS proxy on port 1080 and you're good to go.
Boa sorte!
Gluster can't be told where to store something. So even in a gigantic cluster you still run into the problem that 2 duplicates of a file can be located on two storage nodes that are physically near to eachother. Let's say right where your fire begins
Pfff
Some dude called L. Torvalds let that through IIRC. He's probably new, cut him some slack.
Exactly. Just leave the stupid code in or make it something like B166357B00B135
I probably see more man boobs on a daily basis than I do woman boobs.
You really need to get out more often
There were a lot of f*ck and sh!t references in the kernel code not too long ago. A lot of them directed at Sun (engineers) too.
You're so right. The company I work for allows you to buy a Dell laptop for a certain budget. I can't choose anything else, even if I wanted to. So my new laptop was a Precision M4500 which has Windows pre-installed. I changed Windows to Linux and all was well. Until after a few weeks the battery would no longer charge. Fine, small problem and one call to CS ensured a new battery was shipped the next day. Then a few weeks later the keyboard malfunctioned. Okay, that was replaced as well. And then the charger failed on me. And then the harddisk. And meanwhile I discovered the nvidia card was having problems (doesn't want to refresh the screen sometimes, leaving you editing a file in vim in the wrong place) but they didn't want to swap the mainboard because I couldn't show that the card was running fine in Windows.
Right now everything works fine again, but I won't be surprised if next month I'll have to contact CS again. It's good that I have a 3yr warranty but it would be better if I never had to use it. Hopefully the company's policy will change and I can buy something else.
Yep, Monster 3D II indeed. My primary card was the same as you, but I invested in a Gravis Ultrasound card for music since I liked the Assembly demoscene and that was a must have
And I wanted a big harddisk so I spent about $600 on a 2G Quantum Bigfoot
I think my phone now has better specs than my system back then, but yeah, gaming ruled!
Also I upgraded my mobo and CPU (a 486DX2-80) to a P1 133 MHz so I could play Moto Racer without a problem.
:)
I can still remember my Diamond Monster 3D card, Then later added a second one with the SLI(?) cable. Good old times.
