cubicle phobia writes: "Free-thinking individuals required. No experience necessary.

Have you always wanted fame, fortune and life long posterity? (but no money)

I'm putting a together a book of photos of personalized work cubicles.(hopefully)

I am looking for photographs of your "individualized" work cubicle along with 50 or less of your own words as to how the space makes you feel. The best pics will go up on my website, and the best of those will go in the book.

Submission + - The Google Similarity Distance

RedStar writes: Cilibrasi and Vitanyi have just updated The Google Similarity Distance a paper originally published in 2004. Before you start shouting 'Old news, next!' give it a read. They start from an interesting paradigm. Stating the fact that words and phrases acquire meaning from the way they are used in society they go on to equate 'society' with 'database' and 'use' with 'way to search the database'. Using the web as database and Google as search engine they then compute similarity between words and phrases based on information distance and Kolmogorov complexity. The examples used in the paper and the results obtained will surely get your creative juices going.
