That's the sad thing. Sadly politicians don't understand that. So the GOP wants to cut Social Security over some potential threat by Baby Boomers but Global Warming - which has far more dire consequences - they're willing to kick the can down the road. Nice.

"The IEA suggested that decreasing use of coal in China — and upticks in renewable electricity generation there using solar, wind and hydropower — could have contributed to the reversal."

Doing a stellar job at journalism.

Hours of operation. People need to pay attention to that, not "this bulb will last x number of years." The life span of a bulb is measure in hours of operation, not years. From my own use - CFLs last longer than incandescent. I'm looking at LEDs and like some that I have seen. Warmer look to them.

Same here. Have a CFL in the garage, you know out in the cold, and it's going on 6 1/2 years. Might I suggest two things: the quality of the bulb and the light fixture; not all are equal in quality. I've had Philips incandescent crap out on me quickly but Sylvania last the typical life span. So quality of bulb is an consideration; that and your wiring. Lots of reasons why bulbs die quickly regardless of technology. All things being equal CFL or LED will last longer.

LMOL, the world is not coming to an end Potsy. If you lived through the 80s/90s - when SAMPLING was in vogue - this was a common occurrence. As long as you give proper credit/royalties, there won't be an issue. The only time when it was a problem is when the artist refused to allow their work to be used. This was the case with the KLF when they heavily sampled Abba's Dancing Queen and when Apotheosis did a techno version of Carl Orff's Carmina Burana; both estates refused to allow the artists to use their works and thus they had to destroy them. The KLF reissued their album with the sample bits removes and instructions on how to add them back in :)

LMOL, umm yes Potsy they would pay Microsoft. Court battles can be lengthy and costly. So it's cheaper to pay than to litigate. Not too mention, Samsung carries Windows line of phones. So if they decided to fight Microsoft in court, they could lose Microsoft's business. Again, better to pay the hush money. Now Google on other hand.....
