Yes, but that happened in Mediaeval French when une norenge got misspelt as une orenge, well before the word passed into English...
Which is neither here nor there.
"Buss" is a word that has passed into our vocabulary in modern times, an era no less legitimate for creating new words than any other.
A fool's drivel repeated often enough will some day end up in the lexicon, especially in the moden age of instant mass communications, but that does not make it correct.
That's right, real words come fully formed from a magical oracle. How silly of me...
Redundancy should only be necessary when and where it makes sense. I don't think this is one of those cases.
Though I am a bit surprised that it would take a week to get and install replacement parts...
For those who are wondering, a "buss duct" is a duct that contains "busbars", which are generally large flat copper bars that conduct substantial current.
From the Wikipedia...
The cross-sectional size of the busbar determines the maximum amount of current that can be safely carried. Busbars can have a cross-sectional area of as little as 10 mm2 but electrical substations may use metal pipes of 50 mm in diameter or more as busbars. An aluminium smelter will have very large busbars used to carry tens of thousands of amperes to the electrochemical cells that produce aluminium from molten salts.
An electrical problem effects power to a signle building, this is news? This has nothing to do with "failing infrastructure" like old bridges, highway maintenance, or such. It's an electrical problem in a single building.
...and many large companies are starting to view them in the same light as traditional sports...
Just another consumer product, of course "large companies" are looking the fleece money off of Americans with disposable income...
We are a "consumer society", as other societies seek to better their lot through education and economic advancement, we Americans consume.
Mod this guy up -^ He's the keyboard maker (and has an impressively low Slashdot user#)
Three digit ID or not, it's still yet another silly keyboard for niche users. And it's certainly a "Slashvert", cute, pretty, but revolutionary?
ie. their boarding system is utter shit to begin with.
A matter of opinion. It works very well if you pre-print your boarding passes 24 hours before departure time. I have *NEVER* had anything but A or B.
Southwest (who still does not charge for 2 checked bags) has always treated my wife and I well. We have traveled with our grand children many times.
If you know and follow the well established and well know rules for obtaining your boarding pass and boarding the jet, it's a very smooth process.
But on the other hand, if you're an "entitled power flyer", your asshole attitude will get you nowhere.
Here it comes, all the reactionary Jew hatred posts...
No one seems so interested in the fact that Hamas sites rocket launchers, military command and control, and military supplies in private homes, hosptials, datycares, and schools...
The so-called Hamas "Human Shield" gets almost no attention, using women, children, and old men as "shields"...
No mention of indescriminant non-targeting of rockets into both Muslim and Jewis areas of Isreal by Hamas.
Oh, but those "goose stepping" Jews , bent on exterminating every Muslim in Gaza...
Who is it that has the destruction of Isreal as their official main goal? These are the people that want PEACE?
What assholes. They thought they would get a quick win from an easy prey. Luckily, the foundation is still good enough to protect its editors!!
Heavy-handed Wikipedia editors with serious "WP:OWN" issues often run roughshod over articles, creating seriously biased articles that no one can change because these editors engineer "consensus".
This case will be refiled, and I hope it costs Wikipedia a pretty penny, if not in money, than in reputation.
It's hard to take your point seriously when your post contains only an accusation masquerading as a glib comment with no real content.
Yeah, I understand your problem. But if you are anonymous from a known-to-be-biased IP range, you can't be as trusted as even ordinary anonymous posters.
A government IP range is automatically "known to be biased"? It sounds to me like you have some bias of your own.
If you consider that you are willing to stand behind your edits, get an account.
I have an account. I have for the last 10 years. But often times I don't feel like being abused by editors / admin with "WP:OWN" and God Syndrome issues.
Microsoft is based in the United States, so there may be some valid argument here that as an American company, Microsoft data regardless of where "in the cloud" it is stored is subject to American legal rulings.
The *real* question is what about companies that do business here but are based in other countries?
