Just a small note, the military is switching to the iPhone 6 from the BlackBerry. Most of the leadership at the very large DoD facility I work for turned in their BlackBerries a few months back for iPhones.

Track priority will probably not be an issue since current tracks that Amtrak shares it the freight rail are not "high speed". But not driving, being able to nap or work, that's worth the price. High speed in Europe is comfortable, and reasonably priced.
I do wonder what they do with military personnel from friendly countries engaged in liaison activities, some of whom seem to be embedded in ways that give them access to secret information.
At the USAF base where I work, we have Canadian pilots flying out jets (with classified equipment on-board) on regular missions "down range", and we train Saudi (and other "friendly" forces) on top of the line military gear all the time, so there must be some kind of waiver.
In addition, US federal jobs (like the one I have) come with fairly decent health benefits.
I really have to say, it's right up Microsoft's alley. From what I know of SalesForce, it's a perfect fit.
COBOL is an excellent example, it has become niche, but will be in use on "mission critical" systems for years to come. Perhaps ADA would be another example?
