This is the big problem here. ISP's want to treat this traffic as though it was transit traffic when it's not. As far as level 3 goes these networks are the destination as it's their customers requesting the traffic. It's like a doorman charging the pizza delivery guy for the privilege of entering the building to delver a pizza.

It is a culture problem, just not a male vs female one. Just reading slashdot shows how much people in the tech industry enjoy talking down to others. It's not a male vs female issue, its a I'm smarter than you are therefore I call you whatever I want to. The difference is that when you do this to women they take it personally and feel you're only doing that because she's a woman.

There is a very big difference between buying bonds, and buying real world goods. His point is that buying bonds does as much for the economy as sticking your cash in the mattress. Just take a look at the economy for the last 4 years and you can see this playing out. The Stock Market is doing great! The real world economy is stagnant.

Whats truly sad is that a large public works program would have been far better way to save the economy than giving banks trillions of dollars in bailout money. It's not like our infrastructure doesn't need the work. Aging roads, bridges, sewers, gas lines all over the country need to be replaced.
