Comment RSA's name is dirt in the security industry (Score 4, Interesting) 168

RSA are little more than a government puppet. If you are serious about security, avoid their products.

"RSA, now owned by EMC Corp, did not dispute the research when contacted by Reuters for comment. The company said it had not intentionally weakened security on any product and noted that Extended Random did not prove popular and had been removed from RSA's protection software in the last six months ."

lol. Wonder what new broke ~6 months ago.

They took about 30 seconds to take down that breast feeding app (a BREAST!!!), but something so utterly evil like an app that promises anonymity and delivers spyware gets to live on for months? Sounds like Apple may have received a National Security letter about this fake Tor app (i.e. leave it alone!) and are playing dumb.

Restricted to a single market? What market is that exactly?

Do you mean a single platform? If so then you are wrong. Check out Mono Project.
If you mean restricted to being used in a single industry, then you are beyond retarded.

Just because you are unskilled and ignorant regarding the use, development and popularity of the platform, you should not automatically fear it and attack it. You should educate yourself before embarrassing yourself.

You're missing the point. The fact that you can get a copy of the movie using some technical workaround is meaningless.

The important point is that the law says you are not allowed to see it on YouTube. Its a right that you had yesterday that you do not have today. Part of the massive, slow and irreversible erosion of our rights.

2. How many can program in more than 2 languages?

Its likely the answers are 1. not many and 2. most.

I think equating spoken languages to programming languages like this is misguided and makes sens only to tech-ignorant policy makers and scientists looking for juicy grants based on half-baked non-peer-reviewed research.

Comment No we should not (Score -1, Offtopic) 146

No. We should maintain our advantage over other nations. Especially China. After all China is probably building up a giant stockpile of nukes right now as we speak!!

There is no CND/peace/disarmament/Megatons-To-Megawatts movement on China, There is only propaganda and hatred for the US. So I say the US should build more nukes and point them at China, keep the Chinese at bay. IF we get rid of out nukes the Chinese will see us as weak and eventually start claiming US pacific outlying territories as its own as part of its new aggressive/assertive bully persona.
