I doubt that. My guess is it's just a prime example of cutting costs. It's cheaper to run non-ecc ram, and it's cheaper to implement software based ECC, then it is for hardware ECC.

Corporations want to make as much profit as possible, and the best way to to use cheaper components when making stuff.

Unless you mean the actual software to exploit it? This issue isn't new, just no one has actually made a proof of concept and shared it with the public. Guess it is quite possible that other people (NSA, Hackers) figured how to use this exploit.

But please, do continue parroting Sports Center about the virtues of one blood sport over another.

Spoken like someone who actually has never seen the sports.

No one tries to kill each other, while sometimes there are grudge matches, everyone tends to respect their opponent in the ring. No one is trying to kill each other, they are trying to win.

Not to mention these people train hard and work hard to do this. It is there decision, no one is forced into it. So you and others like you need to get off your high horse and accept that there is things in this world that people like to do that you do not like.

The UFC rules have morphed and changed over the years, and more often than not I've seen a fight stopped early (or my interpretation of early) in order to adhere to the overall rule of protecting the fighter.

I said it was hard to find a career-ending injury. And I was right. You found one in twenty five years of the sport.

I'm not some huge fan of UFC either, but I am aware of the difference that organization has brought to MMA in the way of safety, as their track record in a violent sport speaks volumes.

Any country that refuses to abide by this simple rule (I'm including my own beloved United States which routinely violates this simple legal concept.), should have punitive trade restrictions placed on them.

It should work that way, but then they'd have no grounds on which to charge/bring Kim Dotcom to the USA to face charges. And the USA doesn't like to lose face, so I'm guessing that guy will spend a year in jail in the UAE.

Dear slashmydots,

We don't care about what you want. Today the cool thing is producing your own consoles, even though they are all pretty much Android TV Set Boxes, and people need these things, seriously. So buy this because you don't want to look like a douche.

kthx,

Nvidia

P.S. We say 3 gigs of ram, but what we mean is 512k of super ultra fast ram and 2.5 gigs of slow ram.
