Thanks.
That said, I would rather be SSHing from a real terminal on my phone (like I do on my jailbroken iPhone) than a self-contained application. It's absolutely a control thing for me.

I always thought Verizon was the goddamned devil. Apparently both the Fucking Devil and the Goddamned Devil use CDMA.
Specifically, Verizon loves to disable features of phones such that things that would otherwise be free cost money because you have to go through their network in order to do them. It is a core facet of their business model.
Give it time, and eventually someone will come out with a full MAPI client for Android. Nothing prevents it.
The whole system is going to be fantastic. It's just going to take some time.
... why?
Of course I don't expect T-Mobile to support it. I DO expect Google to have some information available to help me try to recover the damage.
I don't see how they can do it, honestly. How do you sell a device like this with no contract subsidy for $900?
Software locks in the form of chroot jails and forbidding root on your own device, such as those that Android phones and the iPhone line have.
If this obstruction is removed, my (jailbroken) iPhone will be on eBay faster than you can say "screw you, Steve Jobs."
That way I hedge it.
..If you voted for Comrade Obama, check back with me in a couple years.. I'm betting you won't like him then...
Wanna put money on that bet, chief?
Also, fuck you, you lost. Enjoy your national health care, better education system, sane foreign policy, lack of theocratic control of government, and people with actual intelligence operating the country. Too bad, so sad.
If Sirius goes under I am going to be one seriously sad panda. Radio in my part of the country is fucking dire.
I find it hard to believe people don't think it's worth $13/mo, honestly.
It's about the writing and design that went into the game.
If only we could somehow wrest control of the Star Control marque away from Accolade and give it back to Fred Ford and Paul Reiche III.
I also think running Windows on a Mac is just ignorant, and throwing away even more money.
The point of running Windows on a Mac is so that you can have one machine that does everything, including playing games (or running $WINDOWS_ONLY_APP). It means that the same machine that you get all your work done on can be used for leisure time. This is enormously convenient. How is it "ignorant" or "throwing away money?"
I've been very satisfied with the experience of using my Macbook Pro to play games. Just because it's not as good as a Sager SLI machine doesn't mean it's not enjoyable.
