This is all not only out of control, but INSANE! This needs to be fixed somehow, but I have little faith in the American government to even understand the problem.

Meaning: do you rely on the encryption that the services say they use, or you do it your self using something like PGP, GnuPG or compacting tools like 7-Zip, Winzip, WinRar, or others with encryption enabled before Sync them?
I think the bigger question is, "how would you move this process to a FAB"? I don't think it will happen soon, but it seems to me we would need robotic STMs? Research is continuing... I assume.
