Nereus writes: Nobel Prize winner, Dr. James Watson, has had his talk at the Science Museum in London cancelled after he claimed that black people were of an inferior intellect. Watson, who won the 1962 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for his part in the discovery of DNA, said in an interview with The Sunday Times that he was "inherently gloomy about the prospect of Africa" because "all our social policies are based on the fact that their intelligence is the same as ours — whereas all the testing says not really". He went on to say he hoped everyone was equal but that "people who have to deal with black employees find this is not true". This is not the first time Watson has courted controversy. He has previous stated that a woman should have the right to abort her unborn child if tests could determine it would be homosexual. Presumably these tests would involve an undercover police foetus and an airport toilet.

states that Apple and LG each plan to launch new laptops — one that's supposed to ship this month — with hybrid disk drives. The new drives are like hybrid cars in that the NAND flash memory works in conjunction with the spinning disk, kicking in data that can be cached like portions of the operating system, which can make for much faster boot up and resume times."
