shazzle writes: "A few Finnish ISPs started blocking w3.org as a child-porn site. Although one of them has lifted this hasty block, there's another ISP that applied the secret list with a little delay. Here's the evidence. I think we can all agree on the fact how dangerous this kind of haphazard censorship is to free speech as well as legitimate business. Let us not forget how these kinds of mistakes are applied much easier, than corrected afterwards."

A WoW Player's Guide To Warhammer 353

With Warhammer Online just around the corner, Zonk wrote up a guide which compares it to the current top dog of the MMO market, World of Warcraft. He highlights the fact that despite the appearance of "War" in both names, Warhammer is much more focused on the struggle between factions, in gameplay and artistic style. Warhammer's open beta started on Sunday, doing well in the US but stumbling in Europe. The full version launches on Sept. 18th, but people who pre-order the game will be able to access live servers up to four days before, thanks to Mythic's head-start program. Mythic CEO Mark Jacobs recently launched a blog to answer questions about the game.

Neverwinter Nights 2 (published by Atari), while it has client side copy protection which can be easily bypassed if need be, allows transfer of game to others. Personally I find Stardock's method more annoying than, for example, Neverwinter Nights 2 method as client side copy protection can always be bypassed unlike Stardock's style of not giving out updates from official sources without CD-key which cannot be transferred. Obviously if client side protection is overdone (like EA tends to) it is different matter, on that point I agree with you, and would prefer games without copy protections as in the end they do not work.
