"Every so often, people who don't really understand the importance of anonymity or how it enables free speech (especially among marginalized people), think they have a brilliant idea: "just end real anonymity online.""
Oh, they completely understand the importance of anonymity and how it enables dissent. And that is exactly why they come up with "just end real anonymity" [no need to make it specifically mention online].
So, you recommend that people buy your software, and then pay you to customize it for them. Interesting business model. I think I will get into that business, it can't be that hard if you can do it.
What do you mean? There are lots of people in hell.
Sure the state department may issue them, but DHS controls the database. It's one of the primary data sources for their terrorist watch list database.
Really?
Everybody I talk to says you are a jerk.
Fact!
we've spent the last 5 years taking a loss selling ebooks for $9.99 when we have to pay you $13-$15 each.
for some reason, our shareholders aren't happy with this, and want us to stop doing it.
so, would you mind just accepting $5/ebook for the next couple of years until we need to boost profits again?
did I mention we totally created the ebook market by doing it as a loss leader, while simultaneously lowering the sales of your higher-profit physical books as well as the sales of all our competitors who can't afford to loose money on every sale?
you obviously have never heard the whining of some homeless guy only partially blown up. they can go on and on for days. the "please, can you help me find my arm", "would you mind making a tourniquet for my leg with this diaper'. and then bleeding all over the place.
you pretty much have to find a new route to work for at least a week.
you can't just going around mandating what people can do! as long as there is a process to cancel, there is no problem.
no matter how byzantine the process may be, as long as there is one, that's good enough for Congress.
too bad you don't have proof that:
1) shows you are being spied on by the NSA and/or a bunch of other three letter agencies
2) isn't covered by national security concerns
national security concerns = jedi mind trick that only works on judges "this evidence does not exist"
it is an "after-the-fact" type of situation. you are investigated for X, "oh, you have a bitcoin wallet I see, let's see what transactions you've done, have you filed the right paperwork for all this stuff? no?"
buy a case, glue it to the tablet in the form of a triangle, and sell it as a doorstop.
those expenses are not considered part of the proper military budget, and can be cut at will.
because you generally are getting that rated speed....to Verizon's Internet or Comcast's Internet or whatever.
what they never mention is that most web sites don't pay extra to be part of Verizon's Internet or Comcast's Internet, so they get throttled by poor interconnects.
It is totally transparent. You can't see what it is doing at all.
