Real 4K (4320p)

"4K" has historically been used in digital motion picture post-production as a measure of vertical size of the frames in pixels. "4K" meant that the scanned film frames had 4K pixels horizontally, regardless of the aspect ratio (and, consequently, the vertical resolution). Sice "4320p" should presumably refer to vertical resolution, I have no idea how you managed to confuse the two together.

If wind power is as cheap as he claims, then with a reliable storage technology wind would be a total no-brainer. But as it is, wind can only be part of a strategy.

Germany, for example, went into agreements with Norway to build links between the two countries to allow them to use German wind when it's available, and Norwegian hydro when it isn't.

Submission + - Who's in charge during the Ebola crisis? (thebulletin.org) 1

Lasrick writes: Epidemics test the leadership skills of politicians and medical infrastructures, which is clear as this article goes through the different ways West African countries have dealt with the Ebola crisis. Now that fears are spreading about a US outbreak (highly unlikely, as this article points out), it may be time to look at the US medical infrastructure, which, of course, in many ways is far superior to those West African countries where the virus has spread. But there is an interesting twist to how disease outbreaks are handled in the US: 'The US Constitution—written approximately 100 years before the germ theory of disease was proven by French chemist Louis Pasteur and German physician Robert Koch—places responsibility for public health squarely on the shoulders of local and state political leaders...one could argue that the United States is hobbled by an outdated constitution in responding to epidemics. State and local jurisdictions vary tremendously in their public health capabilities.'

In that case, I must be you if you're the only one using it. :D Nope, the problem of full-text search is that is doesn't go deep enough. Especially in technical fields, it would be great to have search engines with greater level of text comprehension than genetic FTS (for example, what if the text uses a synonym instead of exactly the term you're looking for?)

I think that the author of that "rebuttal" completely missed the point of Munroe's idea:

What is there to prevent “letmeinfacebook” from being the new most common four word password for Facebook accounts?

To me, it always seemed that Munroe's method was designed for (already security-conscious) people who want a secure password, and to be more specific, who want the most secure password with the minimum memory load necessary. That seems like a completely different issue from what he's addressing. Plus, I have yet to see an OS or device login that allows you to use a password manager. :-p That alone creates a market for password schemes that allow you to remember the password in your head.
