Another thing which I have not seen discussed is the mutation of the biota that humans carry into outer space.

We put these microbes in zero gravity, far higher background cosmic radiatio & occassional Solar storm radiation.

It will not surprise me that they mutate as a result and I certainly don't have an idea how fast or what those mutations might do.

Solar/UV radiation on floating plastic degrades the polymers rather quickly.

Then the other side of the equation is critters adhere to plastic and their weight eventually causes the plastic to sink. You see wood in the ocean just covered with masses of barnacles, which would sink a small piece of plastic quickly.

Most plastics are also not very reactive in the quick digestion systems of fish, so I suspect that much of the small particles simply pass through quickly with no effect on the fish.

A lot of bogus arguements are "floating around" out there.

The concept of using the equivalent of ski lift pods above ground between light poles has always made a lot of sense to me.

I've wondered why downtown city planners haven't implemented this type of transit as it could potentially alleviate all sorts of congestion for relatively "long walks" people have to make in dense areas.
