Same for my dad. I showed him Warty Warthog when it was just released and he's been on Ubuntu ever since. Even after I switched to That Other Dark Side and got myself a nice macbook, I couldn't convince him to switch to that. He already asked me when I'm able to upgrade him to Karmic, because he liked what he was seeing there...
