But Hybrids were marketed as being more fuel efficient and therefore better for the economy/state/environment, and that they should be rewarded for it. Now you're saying they aren't paying their "fair share" (whatever that means) and thus need to be punished with more taxes.

Here is an idea, why not simply tax Electric/hybrid vehicles a use tax based on miliage and leave the gas tax alone?

All taxes are regressive. This is just another example of regressive tax ideas from the left, trying to even out the playing field.

The left encourages us to get Hybrid Cars and increased fuel economy, and then when the tax base falls, they get upset at hybrids and fuel efficient cars and want to raise taxes!

Meanwhile, tax avoidance is rife in the corporate world - which leads to much less tax revenue for Governments, which leads to a degradation of society and loss of services that benefit society.

So, what you're really saying is that Taxes are regressive because the rich can always avoid them. I realize you didn't mean to make that case, but you did.

This is because Walmart doesn't hire workers full time, because .... government regulations make it too costly! With Obamacare, employers have cut hours to less than 30 per week for most employees, usually to 25 so that they can put in "extra" hours and still be under 30. While you're fighting for workers, you're actually hurting them in ways you never expected, because you don't understand economics is about choice. You think removing choice helps people, but you are wrong.

This is particularly the case today when most money is seating idle in bank accounts and treasury bonds.

Why risk capital if you're going to be punished by liberal socialists who believe that the rich didn't earn anything. Taxes are regressive. Over Regulation is regressive. Licensing to open a business, is regressive. The whole market is filled with regressive policies that don't do what they were designed to do, while at the same time create new problems that people try to over regulate out of existence. I suspect that within 5 years, you'll stop seeing burger flippers because Robots make better, cheaper, quicker burgers. And guess what, your $15/hr min wage jobs are going to disappear, and you'll be fighting for $25/hr Min wage jobs because there aren't any $15/hr ones.

Why don't we just make Min wage $50/hr or $100/hr if it doesn't affect businesses or profits ???

I've actually had good experiences with Google Apps (paid) technical support. I've only interacted with them perhaps two times over three years, but they were fast and good both times. Our local DMV is actually not terrible either (ever since they implemented appointments). God help you if you need to call them on the phone, though.

True story about my last visit from the permitting office (we were doing a series of renovations on our office building, so I visited quite a few times). I dropped by the the permits office to just sign my name to a sheet of paper. I arrived around 12:50am on a Wednesday.

The front desk person was sitting there reading a newspaper. I walk up through the cordoned off waiting area (I was the only person in line), and say "Hello, ...". The reception lady points to a sign that says "Out to lunch" and doesn't even look up from her paper. Ok, fine, I go and sit down for 10 minutes, expecting lunch to end at 1pm. At 1pm the lady removed the "Out to lunch" sign and walked away from the desk. She's mysteriously gone for another 10 minutes. Ok...

So, I'm still standing waiting in line and still the only person there when she comes back. She looks around the room and says "Next." I walk up, say hello, and tell her about what I'm picking up. She reaches down into her files and has my form right there. She explains that I need to sign the form. I pick up one of the bank-style chained down pens and start to sign my name on the only signature line on the form. She immediately says "SIR. The front desk is for interacting with customers only. We need to keep the area clear for other customers. Please go and sign this form and return to the permits office when you are done." Again, I am the ONLY other person in the room. I had to leave the office, go bum a pen off someone, and come back.

I literally could have been in and out in about 30 seconds if that person cared one iota about her job or other people. That was an annoying experience, but not really that out of line with my other local government interactions. To be fair, I did meet a few very helpful inspectors, but sheesh... I met my fair share of similar personality types when I worked for the federal government in DC. Governments, more so than corporations, seem to offer people like that tenured positions.

The problem with embedding technology in the car, is that it is so quickly outdated. many Cars from five years ago had iPod docks, yet most of the people I know that had iPods don't have them any longer, and the Docks are unused (if they even work).

Bluetooth is the new connector, and I suspect that in a few years, it will be replaced with Greentooth, which isn't backwards compatible.
