For if we don't pay taxes you better be prepared to pay Vinny down the street a bit of money to make sure that you don't get mugged, robbed, or killed.

Hey, at least Vinny is a true patriot.

Let's be honest, the majority of Republican voters cheer for billionaires who skip taxes, from their trailers, in red states that accept money from blue states.

You have to love the success story of a party that convinces people to fight for the right to push their own families to the back of the bus in order to patriotically benefit the rich.

Agreed. Most users are not even made aware they are being spied on by default or that there is a way to opt out.

Canonical has done some good for Linux so I will give them a chance to fix this before I ditch them, and by extension all the computers I manage. Let's hope they have a change of heart on this one.

And Adobe has certainly done well with HTML 4 authoring tools. This should be a natural step for them.

You'll see this stuff in episodes of Hawaii Five-O and other TV shows that have a technical aspect, but it'll never make it off Surface, and Surface will never make it to the rank and file. It's too bad, really.

Microsoft is a major sponsor of Hawaii Five-O. This interface should look familiar to watchers of the program.

Probably the first crime fighting show I've seen that regularly includes advertisements for an unpopular smart phone in the dialogue.

Yes, because Hatta is the only person in the entire world with this sentiment. No one has ever seen or will ever see again, anyone on any Slashdot thread speaking up that they put their $ to hardware with open source drivers.

There was a time when GM was happy to lose one customer to Toyota.

This is not a contradiction, and it's not arbitrary "cruelty", and being willing to work within this framework isn't "servile".

Happliy choosing to operate under another's absolute dictation and control is often useful, but it is still servile. That doesn't mean it's a bad thing, but it is what it is.

Anti-Product Placement For Negative Branding 130

An anonymous reader writes "Product placement to promote your brand just isn't enough any more. These days, apparently, some companies are resorting to anti-product placement in order to get competitors' products in the hands of 'anti-stars.' The key example being Snooki from Jersey Shore, who supposedly is being sent handbags by companies... but the bags being sent are of competitors' handbags as a way to avoid Snooki carrying their own handbag, and thus potentially damaging their brand."
