Comment Obvious, to some (Score 1) 481

So, this is universally obvious to every one /.. However, for those not amongst the /. community, i.e. my mom or possibly, your mom, would have no idea of the correlation between opt-out and an increase in spam. I think it is totally justified to mock another /.'er for not knowing this, but recording that obvious knowledge here once and for all can only help educate the general populace. Good one askslashdot!

I totally agree with this, but if you really do have 100 people doing the 'same thing,' they likely aren't. Have them compare notes sometime. There's probably someone out there doing the wrong thing and someone else who's already automated something right or wrong.

If automation is too complex, then a wiki is a good way to go. Unfortunately, a wiki is going to have more than stylistic problems. I mean, who's process will be documented? If not everyone agrees with your process you'd better be able to form consensus or be in a position to dictate it.
