If the headline was much better quality, maybe, but it's not immediately clear to me that this is in any way better than just using higher quality/size JPEG.

I agree, half the size is for most people irrelevant. The article mentions the quality improvement you wanted but did not make it in the summery. Upto 14bits per channel could be a major plus when implemented natively in a DLSR.

Even then it first need to be widely supported before it is used by many, it needs to be used by many before it will be widely supported.

... The real question is what can you do in Oracle that you can't do in Postgresql. The answer is very little ...

The one thing that keeps Oracle customers, especially the corporations, coming back to Oracle is that critical data can not be guaranteed if you use Postgresql or any other 'chicken branded' database engine

Correct one of the very few things you can do with Oracle compared to PostgreSQL is shunt the blame to them, while you might get the full blast when the same thing happens to PostgreSQL.

I have btw never see either of them fail at preserving your data.

Correct English is not my first language, having said that. From a dictionary:

ethnic (thnk) adj. 1. a. Of, relating to, or characteristic of a sizable group of people sharing a common and distinctive national, religious, linguistic, or cultural heritage.

Your definition of choice is in there as well btw.

And to be honest, I couldn't care less about somebody genetic heritage. I care about their behaviour.

Immigration is not a problem per se. Immigration of large groups not willing to conform to our local ethnics is.

I'm from north western europe. Our ethnics is largely atheist and liberal and we are under constant pressure from minorities trying to force their "sensibilities" on society. Well if they don't like our way of living, they are welcome to leave as far as I'm concerned.
